Carlos Aires' work is well known in Spain where he resides. This photograph is a portrait of a real matador, known as the "Dwarf Matador". It focuses on the duality between darkness and light, the evocation of a baroque religious art typical of the South of Spain. His works have been shown at the Atrium Fd. in Alava, Centro de las Artes de Sevilla, and Museum of Contemporary Art in Canada among others.
