John Monti was born in Portland, Oregon. The artist has an MFA from Pratt and serves as a professor there. He is the recipient of a Joan Mitchell grant and has exhibited at the Sculpture Center in Queens, NY, White Columns Gallery, Artist's Space and the Brooklyn Museum. His work is currently on display at Ille Arts in Amagansett, NY.
