Michael Halsband (b. 1956) is a native New Yorker who started photographing at the age of ten. While attending School of Visual Arts in New York City, he bought his own studio and began photographing for magazines. During this time, he photographed such notables as Andy Warhol, Bernice Abbott, David Byrne and Bob Guccione. In Spring 2011, a series of Halsband's Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat portraits were included in an exhibit at the Warhol Museum.
