Rob Scholte (b. 1958) is a contemporary artist from the Netherlands who studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam. His work focuses on the use of manipulated reproductions of images from the media and from art history. His first solo exhibition in 1984 at The Living Room Gallery, Amsterdam was celebrated by critics. Since then, he has exhibited extensively to international acclaim. After the attempted murder of Scholte in 1994, a bomb attack left him wheelchair bound.
