Stephen Lack (b. 1946) is a Canadian painter who lives and works in New York. He is also well known for his role as the lead character, Cameron Vale, in David Cronenberg's film Scanners. Lack specializes in American scenes (urban, cultural and landscapes) in a style that has been described as Neo-Expressionist. His art has won a number of awards and residencies. Lack was very prominent in the 1980s and '90s. He received an NEA award for pointing in 1987 and 1993. This work was purchased from Gracie Mansion Gallery in New York's lower east side.
