Alexandra Rozenman (b. 1971), who now lives and works in Moscow, was born in Massachusetts. Her career has taken her from the Soviet underground and her fellow dissident artists to the United States at the end of the 1980s. She earned her MFA at the School of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and a fellowship to the prestigious MacDowell Colony. Rozenman creates her personal and surreal world where she shapes and colors all images to tell her story. Today, she is also the founder of Art School 99, where she works to give students a technical and spiritual education.
