Jacques Halbert (b. 1955) was born in Bourgueil, France. Jacques Halbert studied at the Brassart School along with the Ecole des Beaux-Arts from 1973-1978. He lived and worked in the United States, particularly in New York, Miami and Los Angeles for over 20 years but now lives in Candes-Saint-Martin (Touraine). He painted his first cherry in 1975 and it has since become a mischievous motif inside his work.
