Willie Cole (b. 1955) is an American sculptor, painter and conceptual artist who uses the simplest of material. His work often combines references and appropriation from African and African-American imagery. Willie Cole's work has been the subject of several one-person museum exhibitions including at Montclair Art Museum, University of Wyoming Art Museum, the Tampa Museum of Art, Miami Art Museum, Bronx Museum of the Arts and the Museum of Modern Art.
